Terms & Conditions for The Members' Lounge

Effective Date: 1 September 2026

Welcome to The Members' Lounge ("the Lounge"), the members-only online area provided by Stewarton Bowling Club ("the Club", "we", "our", or "us").

The Members' Lounge is intended to help members access club information, resources, announcements, events, and member communications. By accessing or using the Lounge, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Lounge.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Members' Lounge, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any other Club policies that may apply.

2. Eligibility

Access to The Members' Lounge is restricted to current Stewarton Bowling Club members and authorised users approved by the Club.

You must not share your login credentials or allow any non-member to access members-only content using your account.

3. Member Accounts

To access certain areas of the Lounge, you may be required to create or activate an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Keep your username and password secure.

  • Notify the Club promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

  • Accept responsibility for all activity carried out using your account.

The Club reserves the right to suspend or remove access where account details are misused.

4. Acceptable Use

The Members' Lounge is provided to support Club activities and member engagement. Members agree to use the platform responsibly and respectfully.

You must not:

  • Use the Lounge for any unlawful purpose.

  • Upload, share, or distribute offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, or inappropriate content.

  • Harass, bully, intimidate, or deliberately provoke other members.

  • Post false, misleading, or malicious information.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data.

  • Upload viruses, malware, or any material that could disrupt the operation of the platform.

  • Use the Lounge to promote personal commercial interests without prior Club approval.

  • Share copyrighted content without permission from the copyright holder.

5. Respectful Conduct

The Members' Lounge is intended to be a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members.

Members are expected to:

  • Treat fellow members, volunteers, committee members, and guests with courtesy and respect.

  • Engage in constructive discussions, even when opinions differ.

  • Respect the views of others and avoid personal attacks.

  • Refrain from using abusive, threatening, offensive, discriminatory, or inflammatory language.

  • Help maintain a positive atmosphere that reflects the values of Stewarton Bowling Club.

  • Respect the dignity, privacy, and reputation of other members.

The Club reserves the right to remove content and take appropriate action where behaviour falls below these standards.

6. Privacy and Confidentiality

Some content within The Members' Lounge may be intended exclusively for Club members.

Members agree not to:

  • Share confidential or members-only information with non-members without permission.

  • Publish screenshots, documents, discussions, or personal information from the Lounge on social media, websites, or any public forum without appropriate consent.

  • Misuse personal information obtained through the Lounge.

  • Share membership lists, contact details, or private communications without authorisation.

Members must comply with all applicable data protection and privacy legislation.

7. User-Generated Content

Where members can post content, comments, photographs, or documents:

  • You remain solely responsible for the content you submit.

  • You confirm that you have the right to share any material you upload.

  • Content must not infringe the rights of any other person or organisation.

  • You grant Stewarton Bowling Club a non-exclusive right to store, display, and manage that content within the Lounge for Club purposes.

The Club may edit, hide, or remove content that breaches these Terms & Conditions or is otherwise considered inappropriate.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated:

  • All Stewarton Bowling Club logos, branding, documents, images, photographs, and materials available through the Lounge remain the property of the Club or the relevant rights holder.

  • Members may access and use materials for personal Club-related purposes only.

  • Materials must not be copied, reproduced, distributed, republished, or commercially exploited without prior permission.

9. Availability of Service

While we aim to keep The Members' Lounge available and up to date, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Stewarton Bowling Club may:

  • Modify, update, or improve the Lounge at any time.

  • Temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, or technical reasons.

  • Remove content or features where necessary.

  • Restrict access during periods of system maintenance or upgrades.

10. Suspension and Termination

The Club reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to The Members' Lounge where a member:

  • Breaches these Terms & Conditions.

  • Engages in inappropriate or disrespectful conduct.

  • Misuses Club information or resources.

  • Compromises the security, integrity, or operation of the platform.

  • Fails to maintain current Club membership status.

Serious or repeated breaches may also be referred to the Club's disciplinary procedures where applicable.

11. Disclaimer

Information provided within The Members' Lounge is intended for general Club communication and information purposes.

While reasonable efforts are made to ensure accuracy:

  • Stewarton Bowling Club does not guarantee that all information will always be complete, accurate, or current.

  • Members should verify important dates, arrangements, and decisions through official Club communications where necessary.

  • Opinions expressed by individual members are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of the Club.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stewarton Bowling Club shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from:

  • Use of, or inability to access, the Lounge.

  • Technical faults, interruptions, or system failures.

  • Reliance on information posted by other members.

  • Unauthorised access to accounts resulting from a member's failure to protect their login credentials.

13. Changes to These Terms

Stewarton Bowling Club may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Updated versions will be published within The Members' Lounge together with the revised effective date. Continued use of the Lounge constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
